Synthetic Space

Synthetic Space is a play between imagery, video and computer algorithms. The aim of the work is to explore how images are interpreted by computers in the effort to create a 'perfect' image.

In this work set certain parameters for the computer to 'enhance' the video are set. However, by revealing this process the method in which it is done, it becomes the focal point. The interplay from image to video as each image is analyses, computed and then re-placed one after the other. This is actioned to form a video where there is 'no motion', an impossible act for a kinetic video.
